Perhaps the most difficult of all the breed names to pronounce and spell and for ease of pronunciation, I have chosen to offer this variation. Sholo-eats-quint-lee Hope that makes it a bit easier to roll off the tongue for this truly magnificent and ancient breed of dog from Mexico. To save time and verbal distraction, the breed name is most often shortened to just Zolo. Imported to Canada as a youngster and shown in her very early career in Western Canada with great success by her owner and Guillermo Fano, Atzi attained several BIS and RBIS. Later, she would travel to Southern Ontario to be campaigned by Emily Burdon and together they finished 2023 as #2 dog of all breeds. Later still her lead was held by Graeme Burdon and the rest, as they say, is history. Atzi started her early 2024 campaign as the #1 dog of all breeds and remained in that enviable position for the entire year. The Zolo is referred to often as the Mexican Hairless dog, (although the breed can also be coated, with puppies in the same litter being hairless or coated). Atzi is the product of a successful breeding program. She completed 2024 as Canada’s top dog of all breeds with 65 BIS, 45 RBIS and has the distinction of being the top wining Zolo bitch in the world. As well, Atzi has proven herself in barn hunt, scent detection and trick dog with titles in these performance areas.
